miracle in oaxaca

feathers fell from queztacoatl
and formed into bleeding volcanoes
i scratched though the veil and sipped from the bottle
and i thought to myself si, bueno.

the spirit world squirmmed and came alive
like amoebas in the drink
sugar calaveras laughed in my face
it's closer than you think.

i climbed to the end of monte alban
the verde was far and wide
the pulque kicked in the journey was on
velasco was there by my side

resplendent and golden the sky
touched the earth and i lost my footing it seemed
i told the temporal world good-bye
the sun virgin burned and she beamed

"things are not as they appear
its enough that you are! just be.
you would be living except for your fear
the past is just psychic debris"

somewhere the sound of a horn exploded
and the bus it pulled away
el barracho was on sickly and loaded
but milagros were offered that day

still looking for a burning bush?
or a vapor behind the door?
i'll show you a miracle in my life
a hole in the rusted out floor

back came the pulque from inside to out
while riding with chickens and goats
bumping along on a dusty route
in a mexican town remote.

I love their usage of the alphabet. And also your Hemmingway-esque poem. I need to locate some Tequila and revisit.

you're still brilliant ... and i've missed you. thought about you alot of late. i owe you an apology. a big one. perhaps it sounds cheap and meaningless. i hope not. i have wanted to write you ... so many times ... of late.

the hole you speak of ... ah yes. i see. loss and pain are like that - a hole one enters ... only things are different when one finally exits the hole.

i am trying to check out of this town ... but a little snow in the columbias won't let me.

i don't know what i wanna be when i grow up.
i don't know if i'll grow up.
i still have the picture of me you drew
its framed and on my bedside table.

hope you are well.

i've bumped along on dusty routes with chickens and goats in mexico.
i've never actually drank pulque, but i suspect it might come back from inside to out. no telling what miracles i'd see in a hole in the floor at that point.
that's not to say that stuff didn't come up from inside to out though while riding for 24 hours in a train in mexico on our way back to tx during the early 80s. we were sicker than dawgs, k9. the only hole i saw was that of el bano.....
y el agua del bano se fue y fue..
well, anyways, those are the memories your poem brought back.

Headin down to Mexico?
Ya know I wanna go where they take it slow.
But for the know, I am stuck here.
been a year and a tear since I could see clear.
But someday soon, we'll tip a glass.
get a pass really fast to riff on your ass.
but tonight I'll tell ya to go and vote.
and I quote from rote, was all she wrote.

My thinking is that it would be a miracle if you could keep your foot from going through the hole in the rusted floor when you wake up groggy in the middle of the night and head to the bathroom.

hey dog!
yeah - woohoo for the sea change.

but no utopia - it doesn't exist.

and though i'm delgihted with the election's outcome (and celebrating a bit), i am still fed up with political bullshit.

i only hope the dems do good. and maybe with the neocons set back on their heels, the "real" republicans will take their party back.

Uh-oh.
Have you been visited by the lavaliers?
Is that what they're called?
Steven King's made into a tv movie starring Balky (dang! Too much tv) and a plane full of people who accidently slipt out'a time and are being hunted down by creatures that eat everything.

This is way too much question fer such a short question...
The date sez this was posted just three days ago, but, I seem to remember that it was a previous post and that the last post here had a K9 in a blouse and skirt (me thinks that would be fun to watch)

Ah, well. Paul's put up his lightning rod again, and some clown named gary is doing his very best at melting it.
It's on Original Faith....

What say?
