Agreed. And if this next bill passes, I will NOT go gently into that good night.

I am so sick inside.

What is sobering is that the lawmakers do not realize that an underground revolution is forming. Americans are weak and pitiful in their desire to have all the goodies and "freedom" to do immoral acts, but enough of them have a memory of nobility. They will not submit.

K9, did you write that?

It made me cry.

Safe travels - and just remember you're not alone. Go to your place and find some peace.. if just for a few days.

Hey there K-9. Thanks for your comments.

I think many of us are considering fleeing right about now. I feel your pain.

So the rich oil sheiks are running scared? They have enough money in Swiss banks to take care of their damn country. What are they going to do--raise the price of oil?

I figured that all these other countries are calling every douchebag senator, representative, Washington flunkie--you name it. And if this bailout goes through, then we are no longer the United States of America--we are the Ununited States of Global Economies in the Red. And that is not the flag I pledge allegiance to.

Congress knows damn well we all hate this bill. Public opinion is saying NAY. It's all over the news. I am keeping track of who votes for it and who votes against. Forget Democrat and Republican--we all have to get all of those bums out--cowards and charletans. My father and husband didn't become soldiers to keep some rich sheik from paying his bills. GRRR.

I am not going to comment on the problems you are having, except that I'm sorry your country is in such turmoil.
I just wanted to let you know K9 that I think your forest cathedral is so beautiful, so many shades of green and magnificent flower images. I wish I lived there too. :) xoxo ♥

The Whores of Babylon in the Senate did their bit of nastiness. Now the House needs to find out if they care enough about their jobs-- I look forward to our conversations in the subway where we all soon will be sleeping.

Agree

It's getting pretty scary.

It's good to come here and I am glad to be back.

Have the day to finish the VG dossier and get it in the mail, and then to clean and blog away.

The BF is being a DICK today, I am in borderline breakup mode, I am not a doormat where you wipe your shit-stained shoes.

I think we oughta lead a secession--in place. Refuse to participate. Here's to the barter system--bypass taxes!

Supreme Court Challenge. If that fails, Florida should peaceably secede from the "United States". We'd be a pretty decent Nation on our own.

Stay there, K9. It's amazing.

Ugh. Been watching CNN since this scheisse came down. I love the scared lil' rabbits: "But, but, we wouldn't have been able to get no credit otherwise!" Idiots. Don't they understand? Credit is not money. It's not wealth. It's not a right.

I can't believe how stupid most people are revealing themselves to be.

This whole thing is so damn awful--I am running out of insults and sheer sadness. I love my country, but our government is for the birds. McCain and Obama worked this one--I need to get a list of the house of Reps to see their vote. K9--if you find the link before I do, let me know.

Today is the day that all illusions have fallen.I agree with Moi; people are really stupid if they think this bailout will help the world market. Better to let things happen as the market predicts. Buy gold, everyone!

That song is perfect, by the way.

Oh get a grip you lot and stop crying into your Milkshakes.

It’s only money.

Instead of bemoaning the fact that your country’s way of managing its vast accumulated wealth is now failing, you’d be better off questioning just how the wealth was accumulated in the first place, and why you have singularly failed to distribute it equitably amongst your own citizens.

For within the answers to those two questions – not the current “crisis” - lies the real tragedy, and shame, of the American Dream.

And to hear you wail that you, the moderately rich, are having to “bail out” the very rich……………well that’s particularly………….. rich.
You are all, at heart, consumerists, capitalists and imperialists.
Your lives are immeasurably better than the vast majority of humankind.

So sit down, enjoy a glass of wine, breathe in some fresh air, and thank whoever you care to thank that you have what you have.

cactus ain't too bad once you get past the spines. Haven't tried nopales yet, though. You have a good point. I have read essays on forming smaller communities that are self supporting, much as they did in medieval times - without the feudal overlords, of course.

6:43 PM
Blogger moi said...

Ardlair: Perhaps YOU should educate yourself on the true nature of wealth and how it's actually created. If you did, then you'd know this "whining" has nothing to do with money or our failure to distribute it equitably, whatever the fuck that means. This about revealing the smoke and mirrors that is our supposed economy – based on nothing but fiat currency – and how, get again, our government mismanages our trust. If that isn't upsetting, what the hell IS/

a sheik?

grrrrrherhahaha.

your advice reminds me of the guy in "the matrix" who wants to be reinserted as a battery to the machine so he can enjoy a nice steak and be a person of importance - like an actor! grrrherhahaha

you think our anger is about money which tells more about what YOU are than anything. its possible you cannot identify with a people whos true inheritance is not money but the constitution which guarantees us freedom from our government.

unfortunately a majority of Americans today refuse to honor their obligation set forth by our nations founding fathers to maintain a high degree of vigilance and civic engagement as a necessary precondition to avoiding the kind of usurpation of power that we see today in America.

Those are the people who took your advice and traded liberty for easy credit ipods and iphones mcmansions and prada and endless bullshit to fill unfillable holes.

the rest of us are dismayed that an international class of pirates appropriated the STATE and subverted it to further enrich thmeselves at the expense of the american people all while maintaing control over the goose that lays the golden eggs.

you should see all thats tacked on to this monstrosity of a bill: liberties lost by diluting our savings, by burying us in petty laws and mandates, and by refusing to access our own resources so as to further enslave us to our creditors.

as far as the inequities you speak of; they tried to apply your dream of social engineering only to see the whole thing collapse because it defies natural order and ignores human nature. now they will socialize that risk they took all while privatizing the profits for the beasts at the top.

but i guess i couldve written a far more succinct reply with a simple "fuck you ardliar"

grrrrrrrrrrrrherhahahahahahaha

And the gall of this person to suggest that this is about us sitting around sipping from $50 instead of $100 bottles of scotch bemoaning the fact that we now have to drive BMWs instead of Porsches.

So "it's only money" then? Tell that to the millions of retirees who spent their lives working hard and saving who are now facing the loss of their incomes. Tell it to the millions of small businesses who DO distribute the wealth by actually creating something. Oh, and while you're at it, tell it to the workers they can no longer afford to employ. What are they supposed to live on? Your effete intellectualism?
