Movie Clip Wednesday: Favorite Black and White Movie
I could've gone with TO Kill a Mockingbird, Dr. Strangelove, A Place in the Sun or even Manhattan; but i chose a film with themes that extend all the way into my here and now. Oh how many times have i referred to places and situations as the "Village of the Damned"! Whats worse than a band of platinum-blonde-group-think-laser-eyed kids? Implanted into the women of a small town, the children of this village are weird and scary smart even as babies. They never had the terrible twos -they were already plotting some unnamed evil. They can crash planes, or make a guy kill himself just by looking at him.
I had this friend growing up who had a cool basement at his house and a movie like this, or say, House of Wax, would play on saturday afternoon. A bunch of us would watch and it was great fun. But later, when i was alone, I was kind of scared riding my bike home. in broad daylight. Grrrrrrherhahahahah
Labels: movies, weird children

Absolutely nothing. Unless they're also all democrats.
That's what I'd call, the ultimate horror.
Most excellent pick. Happy (child free) MCW!
At first, I thought Village of Damned was your beloved "B.R." Bwahahahahahha.
Anything scary was always "Boo Raidley's House" when we were growing up so there's a weird connection to your first pick.
It's been a long time since I've seen this movie and I still think its a documentary. I've seen kids with those eyes.
Happy MCW!
Farout K9. I've only seen the American version. This looks even better. I'm going to have a glass of Tito's watch some baseball and think of a theme for next week. Thanks for stopping at the drivel.
Lol, they must be scarey if you were frightened riding your bike home in broad daylight, so I'm not going to watch it as I have to go to bed soon, ALONE!!!
Happy MCW!
xoxoxo ♡
Heh...is this a review of the new renters next door to ya'? VERY K9 ish pick.
Happy the Yard is open fer bidness again.
moi: they are demoncrats: they feast on a host until they are no longer able to provide sustenance - then they kill the host. but it's okay: its for the greater good. grrrrrrrrrherhahhaha
boxer: are you kidding? i called BR village of the damned that all the time -but i had a shop then.
who knew boo would become the term of endearment for the hip hoppery culture?
buzz: me too - on the flight out of orlando loaded with kids fresh off a disney vacation. too much stardust and sugar!
MRM: ive got some theme ideas...more specific though. like movie that changed forever your way of thinking about something; or best film with subtitles; or film beautiful enough to look at with the sound off...etc...etc. You have done a great job and i am glad you took over for boxer. i was hoping it would last ling enough for me to participate as K9
enjoy the Tito's
dianne: you know, i used to love horror. but when i am out at the cabin alone -i avoid them. i watched I am Legend out here one night and i was a wee bit anxious when i had to go out and collect Koby out of the dark woods. hell no! grrrhahahhahaaha
aunty: just good country people, aunty.. grrrrrrheherhahaha.good to be back. are we ready for some rrrrrrrrrrrruff?
Good morning K9,
I see kids stare like that all the time, at the sreens on their phones.
Happy clip day!
it`s like the zombie movie craze of late....reality is much more scary, so they soften it up for moviegoers.
karl: grrrrrehrhahahaha so the evil plot worked after all!
doctor: hey! great to see you. indeed the reality is more frightening. dead eyes everywhere.
You are not alone, any more
moooaaahahaha
they are coming to take You away
