Do you think the US-consumer and Rest-of-the-World-producer is a sustainable model? Why should other people ship us goods, when we give them nothing in return but dollars?
See, John McCain is DEAD WRONG. The WEAKEST fundamental of the economy is the American worker. The American worker serves fast food, implants fake boobs, tattoos, we're like a bunch of baboons picking fleas from each other, getting bananas from the zookeeper. I'm not saying we're not working hard applying acrylic nails and taking care of old folk in nursing homes; I'm saying there is not enough actual production of GOODS that other countries want to buy to sustain our lifestyle. The rest of the world is our zookeeper bringing us our daily bananas.
Forget housing bubbles, forget Lehman Brothers, that's is the fundamental flaw with our model. The only thing we have been exporting is money. We are profoundly indebted to "zookeeper." We have to pay; and we have little to trade.

Think about it. Our army, our sons and daughters, is going to whore itself to foreign interests. We will wage other people's wars for smack money.
The consequences of our foolishness is systemic robbing of our purchasing power through mega-inflation, and wages lagging far behind.
